Ingredients
Scale
- 36 vanilla oreos about 15 ounces
- 1 8- ounce block cream cheese softened
- 14–16 ounces white chocolate melts
- red oil-based food coloring optional
- sprinkles optional
Instructions
- Prepare a sheet pan that fits in your freezer or fridge with parchment paper and set aside.
- Place Oreos in a food processor and run in 10-second increments until they become fine crumbs.
- Transfer the cookie crumbs to a mixing bowl, add cream cheese, and mix well. Using your hands can help to combine thoroughly.
- Use a 1.5-tablespoon cookie scoop to form truffles and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Roll into smooth balls, then freeze for 30 minutes or refrigerate for an hour.
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, or use a double boiler method.
- If coloring the chocolate, add a small drop of food coloring to the melted chocolate to achieve your desired hue.
- Dip each truffle in the melted chocolate using a fork, ensuring they are fully coated, and tap off any excess. Place on the sheet.
- If doing drizzles, chill the truffles for about 10 minutes before decorating as desired.
- Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet, and allow them to set on the counter for about 2 hours.
Notes
For best results, use a good quality white chocolate for melting.
You can also mix in flavor extracts for a unique taste.
Store truffles in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
