- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Ground Cardamom
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon

- 1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
- 1 cup Granulated White Sugar
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter (very softened)
- 1 Egg (at room temperature)
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Bean Paste
- 1 tsp Orange Zest
- ~1/4 cup Plum Jam
- ~1/2 cup Pink Sparkling Sugar
- heaping 1/2 cup Freeze-Dried Berries
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened) for frosting
- 1/8 tsp Additional Salt
- 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp Extra Plum Jam
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
- 3–4 tbsp Heavy Cream
- Pink Sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
- In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg, vanilla, and orange zest; mix well.
- Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined.
- Portion and flatten dough, place plum jam in center, and seal shut before rolling into balls.
- Roll cookie dough in pink sparkling sugar and flatten slightly before placing on baking sheets.
- Bake for 9-10 minutes, cool for 5 minutes before transferring to rack.
- Prepare frosting by grinding freeze-dried berries and sift for a smooth texture.
- Mix softened butter and salt until fluffy, then add plum jam and berry powder.
- Gradually add powdered sugar and cream until frosting is smooth and pipable.
- Once cookies are cool, pipe frosting and add decorative pink sprinkles.
Notes
Soften butter fully for best texture.
Use room temperature eggs for even mixing.
Refrigerate runny jam to thicken before using.
