Description

This Spicy Bacon Tomato Pasta features creamy sauce, crispy bacon, and a hint of heat. Perfect for quick dinners and gatherings, it’s a true comfort dish that everyone will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta
  • 4 strips thick-cut bacon
  • 1/2 medium onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste (double concentrated)
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 small handful fresh basil (sliced thin)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Boil salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions for al dente; reserve pasta water and drain.
  • Cut bacon into small pieces and cook in a skillet until crispy; drain excess fat, leaving some in the pan.
  • Sauté chopped onion in the skillet until soft, around 5-7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds, then pour in the wine and reduce slightly.
  • Whisk together tomato paste and cream until smooth; add Italian seasoning and crushed red pepper, simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Stir in crispy bacon and basil; fold in parmesan cheese until melted, adding reserved pasta water to adjust consistency.
  • Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, tossing until evenly coated; season with salt and pepper before serving.

Notes

To make it vegetarian, omit the bacon and use olive oil with sautéed onions.
For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free pasta and adjust cooking time accordingly.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
