Description

These Spiced Gingerbread Bars are a delightful treat packed with rich, warming flavors of molasses and spices. Perfect for any gathering or a cozy night in, they are quick to prepare and satisfy your sweet cravings!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Spray a 9"×13" baking pan with non-stick spray and set it aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and molasses until creamy, about 1-2 minutes; a stand mixer is ideal due to the thick batter.
  • Incorporate the egg and mix well.
  • Add the dry ingredients and stir until the dough is thoroughly combined; it should be thick like cookie dough.
  • Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan using a silicone spatula or your fingers.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes; let it cool. Adjust baking time as necessary for your oven; the edges should be crispy while the center remains a bit gooey.
  • Allow to cool completely before optional frosting and cutting into squares, and consider adding Christmas sprinkles.
