- 115 g unsalted butter, softened
- 170 g white cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
- 225 g sweet Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 large celery ribs, finely chopped
- 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley, divided
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/2 box (approx. 85 g) seasoned stuffing mix
- 120 ml water
- 1 tube refrigerated flaky biscuit dough
- Kosher salt & freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and brown the sausage. Add celery, onion, and garlic until tender.
- Mix in the stuffing mix and water. Stir in half of the cheese and parsley, seasoning to taste.
- Prepare the parsley butter by mixing butter with remaining parsley.
- Assemble biscuit pieces with stuffing mixture and cheese, stacking in the loaf pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and cooked through, then cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Allow sausage mixture to cool slightly before assembly to prevent sogginess.
Use room temperature butter for easy spreading.
Experiment with different cheeses or herbs for variations.
