Description

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lb ground beef
  • 1 lb potatoes (diced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup water or beef broth
  • Fresh parsley or green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt half the butter, and brown the ground beef for 8-10 minutes.
  • Season the browned beef with salt, pepper, and spices; set aside.
  • Sauté the diced onion in the same skillet for about 5 minutes until softened, then add minced garlic for 1 minute.
  • Add the diced potatoes to the skillet, cooking for 5-6 minutes until they are golden.
  • Pour in water or beef broth, scraping flavorful bits from the bottom; simmer for 10-12 minutes until potatoes are fork-tender.
  • Return the beef to the skillet, stir to combine, and heat for an additional 4 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley or green onions before serving.

Notes

Ground turkey or chicken can be used as a meat alternative.
Feel free to add more vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for nutrition.
