Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl.
  • Pat shrimp dry, season with salt and pepper, then cook in heated oil for 1-2 minutes per side until pink.
  • Remove shrimp and pour sauce mixture into the skillet, cooking for about 3 minutes until syrupy.
  • Return shrimp to skillet, tossing in the sauce for an additional 1-2 minutes until glazed and caramelized.
  • Serve warm, topped with scallions and sesame seeds.

Notes

Allow shrimp to come to room temperature for even cooking.
For a spicy variation, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
