- 1 cup milk (240 grams)
- 4 teaspoons cherry blossom syrup
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- ½ cup hot water
- ¼ cup cream, optional (60 grams)
Instructions
- Sift the matcha powder in a small bowl using a fine mesh sieve.
- Pour ¼ cup of hot water (170℉ or 80°C) over the matcha and whisk until foamy and aerated.
- Add the remaining hot water to the matcha mixture, stirring gently to combine.
- In another jug or bowl, mix the milk with the cherry blossom syrup until well combined.
- Pour the Sakura milk into two glasses filled halfway with ice cubes.
- Slowly pour the matcha tea on top, taking care to keep the layers separate.
- Top with cream if desired, then serve.
Notes
For a vegan version, substitute milk with almond or oat milk.
Ensure the water temperature for whisking the matcha is not boiling to prevent bitterness.
Optional: Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less cherry blossom syrup as per your taste.
