  • Cream softened butter with brown and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until combined.
  • Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  • Scoop dough, roll into balls, and coat with red sanding sugar.
