Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Dark Chocolate
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Butter
  • 1/3 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 23 tbsp Milk/Cream

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, melt butter and dark chocolate over a simmering pot of water until creamy.
  • Remove from heat and gradually whisk in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean with some moist crumbs.
  • Cool brownies in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • In a large bowl, whip softened butter for buttercream until fluffy, then add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until combined.
  • Once brownies are cooled, pipe chocolate buttercream on top in tree shapes, adding festive decorations if desired.

Notes

You can substitute butter with margarine for a dairy-free version.
For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free baking blend instead of all-purpose flour.
Ensure butter for frosting is softened to room temperature for the best consistency.
