Description

This chocolate ganache frosting is smooth, rich, and easy to make with just a few ingredients. Perfect for any cake or dessert, it adds a glossy finish and irresistible flavor that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  • Finely chop the chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl.
  • Warm the cream over medium heat until it simmers, then remove from heat.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes.
  • Stir the mixture until smooth and glossy.
  • Adjust the ganache consistency as desired: cool for a glaze, let it reach room temperature for frosting, or beat until fluffy for piping.

Notes

Finely chop chocolate for even melting; avoid larger pieces.
Do not boil the cream to keep the ganache smooth.
Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
