Description

These Chewy Brown Sugar Cookies are a delightful blend of soft centers and crisp edges, filled with a rich flavor from brown sugar and cinnamon. Perfect for any occasion, they’re easy to make and a favorite among cookie lovers!


Ingredients

  • 2 and 1/3 cups all-purpose flour (292g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (12 Tbsp; 170g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 and 1/4 cups (250g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup (67g) granulated sugar, for rolling

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  • Whisk dry ingredients together: flour, baking soda, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Melt butter and whisk in brown sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Combine wet mixture with dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Cover and chill dough for 3–4 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Scoop dough and roll into balls, then coat in granulated sugar.
  • Place on lined baking sheets, spaced apart, and bake for 14–16 minutes.
  • Cool on baking sheets for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

For gluten-free cookies, substitute with gluten-free flour.
Chilling the dough is essential for achieving the right texture.
Measure flour by spooning it into the cup to avoid packing.
