- 8 ounces fettuccine
- 12 ounces large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 ring (13.5 ounces) smoked sausage
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook fettuccine until al dente, reserving ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
- Pat shrimp dry and toss with half of Cajun seasoning.
- In a skillet, heat oil and sear sausage until golden brown. Set aside.
- Sear shrimp in the same skillet until pink and opaque, then remove.
- Melt butter in the skillet, add garlic, then stir in cream and remaining seasonings.
- Simmer sauce until slightly thickened, then mix in Parmesan until melted.
- Combine fettuccine, shrimp, and sausage in the sauce, adjusting consistency with reserved pasta water as needed.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat in the microwave or on the stove, adding a splash of cream to restore creaminess.
Use different types of pasta if desired, such as penne or spaghetti.
