Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare two 8-inch round cake pans.
- Mix dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; combine with dry ingredients.
- Pour batter into prepared pans; bake for 30 minutes and cool on wire rack.
- Dissolve gelatin in cold water and microwave to prepare.
- Beat cream with icing sugar and vanilla bean; fold in gelatin mixture to stabilize.
- Slice cooled cake layers and brush with cherry syrup; layer with cream and cherries.
- Frost cake with whipped cream and prepare ganache with chocolate and cream.
- Drizzle ganache on frosted cake and decorate with chocolate and fresh cherries.
- Chill to set for a couple of hours before serving.
