- Kosher salt

- 1 lb. crimini mushrooms
- 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 4 large sprigs thyme
- 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 1¼ cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 garlic cloves
- ½ cup grated Parmesan
- Freshly ground black pepper
- ¾ cup French's fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a pot of salted boiling water for blanching the green beans.
- Blanch the green beans for about 3 minutes, drain, and cool them down.
- Sauté the sliced crimini mushrooms until golden, then set aside.
- Make the cream sauce by mixing melted butter with flour, then stirring in milk and cream until thickened. Add garlic and Parmesan.
- Combine the green beans and mushrooms in a baking dish, pour over the cream sauce, cover with foil, and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Uncover, top with fried onions, and bake for an additional 3 minutes. Let sit before serving.
